About the Mary Anne Weber Memorial Dance-Off
It is our privilege to honor one of the great supporters of Irish dancing in Cincinnati, Mary Anne Weber (1931-2025). Mary Anne's paternal grandmother hailed from Turlough, Co. Mayo, arrived in the Queen City of Cincinnati in 1890, and passed her love of Ireland on to her family. Throughout Mary Anne's life, Mary Anne was quick to share her passion for all things Irish (and especially Irish dancing) with anyone she met.
A founding member of both the Queen City Feis and the Cincinnati Feis, Mary Anne wore many hats from feis entry secretary (before online registration) to the Queen City Feis t-shirt saleswoman (if you stopped by the t-shirt table, you probably had a wonderful conversation with her)! As the feis entry secretary, Mary Anne always remembered any dancer celebrating a birthday on feis day with a sweet treat (and remembered all the dancers she had the joy to meet).
Proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of Irish dancers, she NEVER wanted to miss an Irish dancing event. Now with the Mary Anne Memorial Dance-Off, she will ALWAYS be a part of the Queen City Feis!
